FAQ: Gap Year

29 Mar

After graduation, many students decide to pursue other interests before going to graduate school or finding a full-time job. Whether they want to travel the world, volunteer, teach, or intern, students who choose to take a year or so away from academia have the opportunity to enhance their resume, gain experience, and develop new skills that cannot be taught in the classroom.

Note: If you’re interested in applying for medical school, many health care programs encourage the Gap Year option, during which they can gain additional experience and decide if health care is truly the right career path.

Find out more about the Gap Year, including links to programs and other resources, on the OPCD website.
